RB Leipzig convinced in a friendly win against Radomiak Radom

Cup winners RB Leipzig easily won a test match against Polish Premier League club Radomiak Radom 6-0 (2-0) without their seven World Cup riders.

In his comeback from syndesmosis surgery in September, Konrad Laimer scored the opening goal (31st), Dominik Szoboszlai with a brace (42nd/72nd), youngsters Ohene Kohl (65th) and Simon Schierack (86th) as well as an own goal for another Dominik Sokol took care of the interventions.

Defense chief Willi Orban returned from the Hungarian national team with a knock on his knee and, like Marcel Halstenberg – also with knee problems – trained individually.

Top two strikers Christopher Nkunku and Timo Werner (he was a spectator in Cottawego) will not be available for the time being after picking up injuries shortly before the World Cup final in Qatar.

RBlive reporter Ulli Kroemer was on the scene in Cottawego.

To the winter timetable of RB Leipzig

1:50 p.m.: Welcome to the test of RB Leipzig against Radomiak Radom am Cottaweg. RB comes into the game with this line-up: Nyland – Henrichs, Simakan, Ba, Schlager – Kampl, Laimer – Haidara, Forsberg (C) – Szoboszlai, Köhl.

1:53 p.m.: Interesting fact: Xaver Schlager starts as a left back and will always switch to midfield. Benni Henrichs works similarly at right back.

2 p.m.: It begins with the first test of the World Cup break.

2:04 p.m.: RB starts with a lot of pressure and extremely tall defenders Schlager and Henrichs.

2:06 p.m.: Dominik Szoboszlai’s first shot on goal from the half-right position still misses the target.

2:07 p.m.: Laimer is once again agile and in the mood to play. Sláger serves an approaching figure eight from the left. Laimer pulled out the horn. A fan calls out to the Austrian, who is willing to change his clothes: “Konni, Bavaria sucks!”

2:11 p.m.: Henrichs hits center again and again, delivering hits to the left side. An interesting option that still fits.

2:12 p.m.: The first finish of the Poles from the right side. But Mauride’s shot is parried, making it easy prey for Nyland.

2:14 p.m.: Henrichs shoots on goal after Szoboszlai’s dream play. RB swirls very committed and dominant, no trace of the lethargy of the Test game. Rose also knows how to motivate the team in friendly matches.

2:16 p.m.: The Poles countered with a long ball on the right wing, but Haidara rushed in and eliminated Radomiak (Alves) with a save.

2:20 p.m.: Ohen Köhl’s big chance! The teenager is served by Forsberg and finishes centrally from about eleven meters. But the shot is too central. Easy prey for Kbylak in the Radom gate.

2:21 p.m.: By the way, RB Leipzig is fully working on the live stream. The signal drops out, it may be caused by the software. The game will definitely run again.

2:23 p.m.: Another great chance: Benjamin Henrichs shoots from 18 yards, his shot from full range lands just wide. The fans were already cheering and rubbing their eyes that the attempt was not in the goal (21.).

2:24 p.m.: RB stream on YouTube now runs faster than expected. So you can watch and read at the same time here.

2:27 p.m.: Still lacks pressure in the finish. Henrichs pulls back again and passes to Laimer from the edge of the box, but the convalescent’s shot is too harmless.

2:29 p.m.: Maurides got to the loose header which landed just wide of the post. Nyland stretches.

2:30 p.m.: RB tries again from distance, a powerful shot from Haidara after Köhl held the ball up quickly and forcefully. But Haidar was swept by the firecracker just above the goal.

2:33 p.m.: RB is better after half an hour, willing to play, especially on the left side. Alone, efficiency is lacking, we were about to write. But Konni Laimer is cutting through the middle of the field and pulling more than before. A low shot hits the bottom left corner of the goal. 1-0 (32′).

2:36 p.m.: Köhl is stopped in the penalty area near the penalty area. Decent, says referee Alexander Sather. It still hurt the talent.

2:38 p.m.: RB continues to settle in the last third of the Poles. Kampl’s swing goes just over the goal. Shortly after, Kobylak is at the ball in front of Forsberg.

2:40 p.m.: Dangerous finish from Radomiak by Yarosh. But Nyland can safely deflect a shot that was placed too centrally.

2:41 p.m.: As recently in the league, RBs are very good at luring opponents into their own half and then creating space to switch. One of the secrets of the success so far in the first half of the season.

2:44 p.m.: Just before the break, it is deservedly 2:0. Forsberg holds the ball in the middle of the field and passes it to Dominik Szoboszlai, who, like before Laimer, shoots from 16 meters and hits the bottom left corner (43′).

2:47 p.m.: Break. A very good first half of the test against Radomiak Radom, who has not had a chance so far. RB picks up where it left off in the Bundesliga. Lots of fun combining and playing, good build, positioning and body language. The chance conversion itself could be a little better, but for a test match here at Cottawego it’s extremely impressive.

2:49 p.m.: By the way, 423 fans came. Including some that have nothing to do with RB. One says in the Brandenburg dialect: What could be nicer than watching football on a Friday afternoon?

2:55 p.m.: Xaver Schlager, Konrad Laimer, Dominik Szoboszlai and Benjamin Henrichs stand out from the strong team. As a free radical, Henrichs can be found everywhere, always moving on the outside and confident on the ball. Someone wants to get into the fight during winter break. Schlager does an excellent job on the left – versatile! After a short adaptation period, Laimer is almost his old self again. Active with and against the ball And Szoboszlai is simply in good form and a solid point in the attack, participating in almost every action.

3:03 p.m.: Go ahead. The teams return to the playing field.

3:04 p.m.: The RBL will change to two positions. Max Voigt comes in as a right-back, Daniel Ihendu as a central defender. Mo Simakan and Konni Laimer remained in the cabin.

3:07 p.m.: Now the exciting four: With Sanoussy Ba (18) and the 1.94 meter tall Ihendu (17) and Voigt (18) there are three teenagers in the back row along with Schlager.

3:08 p.m.: Almost a union of Poles. In an emergency, Sláger steps in and deflects Machado’s shot into the box. Fortunately for RB, the Leipzig people weren’t paying attention. Best chance for the guests.

3:10 p.m.: There was a light drizzle. So it should be in the test in November.

3:11 p.m.: Nicely executed attack through Szoboszlai and down the left wing, but Forsberg dribbles in six yards.

3:13 p.m.: Free kick from 25 meters. Nyland is safe below (53rd).

3:16 p.m.: RB has been found and is more urgent again. Forsberg puts his heel on Henrichs, whose shot goes over the goal (56.)

3:18 p.m.: Great combination. Szoboszlai plays diagonally across the opponent’s penalty area, towards which Haidara rushes – but again he does not finish well enough.

3:20 p.m.: Haidara now appears, another long range missile, this time positioned. But Kobylak is excellent and deflects the hammer near the post (60). RB is now in a strong power play phase.

3:23 p.m.: Forsberg also tries it from the inside left position and hits the crossbar. Earlier, Rb quickly took a free kick when Henrichs was brought down.

3:25 p.m.: 3:0 for RB!!! Youngster Koehl scores a goal. Leipzig countered against the highly advanced visitors and Emil Forsberg went off like an arrow. The Swede puts it centrally to Ohene Köhl, who just has to push (66′).

3:27 p.m.: The game is definitely decided. The fact that the veteran Forsberg left the goal to the young Köhl is a testament to the team spirit.

3:32 p.m.: 4:0 by Dominik Szoboszlai!!!! Now it is clear. The resistance of the Polish Premier League team is decreasing. After a corner, the ball goes back to Szoboszlai on the left. The Hungarian deliberately tries to the bottom right corner of the goal from 16 meters (72′).

3:37 p.m.: Haidara still wants his goal. The man from Mali again places a dangerous ball on the goal and Kobylak catches again (77′).

3:38 p.m.: By the way, despite the score, RB continued to be active and aggressive against the ball, Forsberg countered again and pressed perfectly on Szoboszlai, who narrowly missed the goal this time (81st).

3:40 p.m.: Game training for Jonas Nickisch. The 18-year-old goalkeeper replaces Nyland for the last ten minutes (81′).

3:42 p.m.: Plenty of room for RBL now. Haidara accelerates the game, Sláger goes steeply, but Kobylak fails.

3:43 p.m.: A few more minutes for three more young players. Lenny Hennig, Simon Schierack and Pierre Weber enter the game.

3:45 p.m.: The fifth goal for the Leipzig team, again from a distance, again at the bottom right of the goal. Dere Schierack, who has just been substituted, scores with a powerful shot (86th).

3:47 p.m.: Colleague Guido Schäfer is passing by and has hot information: Timo Werner is watching the test on the back straight.

3:51 p.m.: Radom comes in again and stops Nickisch safely. Jonas sings. After a corner from RB, Gajgier scored an own goal. The match ends 6:0.

3:52 p.m.: Shortly after, the final whistle. Arguably Leipzig’s best, most committed, most worth seeing, most engaging test game in years. This team just wants to play football under Rose. Also in the World Cup, a break in nine degrees and drizzle. That’s how we say goodbye to the ticker. See you in a week. I wish you a beautiful first advent.
